District Coordinator Responsibilities (one coordinator per district)

Block Captain Responsibilities
Distribute information, such as newsletters or updated material from the Crime Watch Coordinator or Lakewood Neighborhood Association Board.
Identify and/or work with Block Captains
Keep each household’s information up-to-date, with the current names, e-mail addresses, contact phone numbers, and other enrollment information. Note significant emergency or safety-related information such as medical problems, anybody staying at home all day, frequent travel, etc.
Create a block email list and phone tree, coordinate block meetings, and block parties, etc. (like a “social director”.)

Ensure that any incident that takes place is immediately reported, or call 911; activate the phone tree with information for your block
Greet new neighbors, educate them about Crime Watch, and update the block list.
Serve as liaison between the CrimeWatch Coordinator and your block.
Recruit volunteers to keep a watch on houses for the elderly and vacationers, as well as empty homes that are for sale.
Inform the Crime Watch Coordinator if you need to resign.
Provide the Crime Watch Coordinator with your current contact information (email, home, cell and work phones)
Anything else that might benefit your block
