Greetings!

I want to take a moment during this special time of year to wish you and your family a safe and joyous holiday season. This is the time of year when we all give thanks for the many blessings we have received and we reflect on how grateful we are for our friendships.

I hope you will make time to spend with family, friends, and colleagues. Take a moment or two to feel the joy and love that only a gathering of close family and friends can bring. We must remind ourselves that the true essence of giving and compassion remain with us throughout the New Year.

We are so lucky to live in a beautiful, vibrant and diverse city. So much has been accomplished this past year. Dallas is delivering in so many ways and our City’s momentum is growing. Together, we continue to work through tough issues, overcome obstacles and meet challenges to make District 9 an even better place to live and raise our families.

Finally, as we celebrate with our family and friends remember we do so because we enjoy freedom. Our freedom continues to come at a price and so many sons, daughters, fathers and mothers continue to pay the ultimate sacrifice. With thousands of troops in Afghanistan and Iraq – away from their families in harms way – please keep our men and women in the military in your prayers this holiday season, and please remember the reason for the season is the birth of Jesus.
