to lend a hand. Unless noted or specifically requested, volunteer positions do not require regular attendance at monthly LNA Board meetings. Here are just a few of the opportunities:
Volunteer Coordinator
Responsible for communications, planning and coordination with volunteers for various projects. Time commitment: about 4 hours per month.
Member Directory Task Force Chairperson
Responsible for supervising research, design, production, and distribution of directory, in partnership with the Webmaster. Time commitment: about 4 hours per month for about 3 months.
Member Directory Task Force
(numerous volunteer needed) Assist Chairperson and Webmaster in research, design, production and distribution of directory. Time commitment: about 4 hours per month for about 3 months.
WRL Adopt-a-Shoreline Chairperson
Oversee cleanup efforts around LNA's adopted shoreline at White Rock Lake (near T.P. Hill and the boathouses). Cleanups may be in conjunction with For the Love of the Lake's monthly Saturday cleanup, or at some other time, provided there is a cleanup effort at least once a month.
Time commitment: about 1-3 hours per month.
Crime Watch District Coordinators
(5 Volunteers Needed) Assists Crime Watch chairperson in recruiting new members, coordinating block captains, assisting in overall neighborhood crime watch program. There are 5 districts within LNA, and a coordinator is needed for each district. Time commitment: approx. 3-5 hours per month.
Neighborhood Block Captains
(Numerous Volunteers Needed) Acts as eyes and ears of the LNA Board regarding neighborhood concerns. Assists in implementing notices and crime watch alerts to those on your block. Time commitment: about 1 hour per month.
Communications Assistants: Writers, editors, photographers and techies
(Numerous volunteers needed)
Help write and edit stories, or take/edit photographs for Lakewood Life, the LNA newsletter/online publication. Assist in assembling the electronic newsletter, and updating the website. Techies, bring your skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks and/or Joomla. This is a great way for high school students to earn community service hours. Time commitment: about 1 - 4 hours per month
